I have a 6th level Light Domain Cleric. We are using the Optional Class Features from Tasha's Cauldron. During an encounter, I used my Harness Divinity to regain 2 2nd level spell slots, which consumed all of my Channel Divinity slots. We then took a short rest. I used the DND Beyond Short rest feature. It cleared the consumed Channel Divinity slots for the Radiance of the Dawn ability, but not the Harness Divinity slots.
My question is: Do I get to use Radiance of the Dawn two times after every short rest, if I used them for Harness Divinity? Or if the two Channel Divinity slots are used for Harness Divinity, then the Channel Divinity slots are consumed for the day, regardless of the short and long rests used?

It is all fairly simple, at level 6 you have 2 uses of Channel Divinity between rests (both short and long). Harness Divine Power (not Harness Divinity) is merely anadditionalway to use your Channel Divinity much like Radiance of the Dawn, but with a restriction of a limited number of uses between long rests (1 time at level 2, 2 times at level 6, 3 times at level 18).
Since you already used Harness Divine Power twice, you have already used your daily limit for that method of using Channel Divinity therefore the option to use it again will not return until you use a long rest.
In short while both Radiance of the Dawn and Harness Divine Power both use Channel Divinity slots, Harness Divine Power can only be used twice a day at your level while your other Channel Divinity options are not subjected to this limit.

Thanks for the explanation.. It sounds like it's a process issue in D&D Beyond. Cheers!

I think you might have misunderstood Thelonelymagi's explanation.
You are only able to use Harness Divine Power one time (per channel divinity slot) per long rest. So once you use them for Harness Divine Power youcan't use your Channel Divinity Slotsfor Harness Divine Power again until after the next long rest has been completed whereas you do regain your Channel Divinity Slots after a short rest to use for Turn Undead or Radiance of the Dawn.
So it sounds like D&D Beyond is working correctly and it isn't a process issue in D&D Beyond.

Thanks; that makes sense - there are two separate abilities which refresh at different rates, and are not interchangeable. I thought I only had two uses per day, irrespective if it was used for a Harness or a Radiance. I now see I can use Radiance four times a day after a short rest, and Harness twice a day after a long rest.
Sorry to be dense about it - I didn't want my DM to think I was RAW hunting.

If you have more than one short rest you can use radiance of dawn more than 4 times per day. Harness divine powerr uses a channel divinity but can only be used a maximum of twice per day. Might be best to do an example:
- You take a long rest so you can do 2 channel divinities (CD) before your next short rest a maximum of 2 harness divine power (HDP) before your next long rest
- You use radiance of dawn so you have 1 CD before your next short rest and 2 HDP before your next long rest
- You use HDP so you can not use any more CDs (including HDP) before your next short rest and have one HDP left before a long rest (that can only be used after a short rest)
- You take a short rest you now have your 2 CDs back but can only use one of them for HDP
- You use turn undead so you have 1 CD before your next short rest and 1 HDP before your next long rest
- You use HDP this is your last one of the day and uses your last CD slot
- You take another short rest you have 2 CD slots back but they can not be used for HDP (only for RD or turn undead)

D&D Beyond's implementation is correct.
You essentially have two separate resources, Channel Divinity (which resets on shortrest) and Harness Divine Power (which resets on long rest). Where it gets confusing is that Harness Divine Poweris also a Channel Divinity power, so it requires both resources when you use it, not just its own.
Sounlike most (all?) other Channel Divinity powers, youcan only use Harness Divine Power a limitednumber of times per long rest, whereas other powers can be used again and again each time you short rest.

Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D,after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.

Haravikk has probably the best explanation so far. It's two separate resources, one of which refreshes on a short rest and one of which refreshes on a long rest, and harness divine power uses one of each whereas radiance of the dawn uses only the short rest resource.
Let's say you use harness divine power twice, then take a short rest. You're out of both harness divine power uses and channel divinity uses. The short rest recovers your channel divinity uses, but not your harness divine power uses. You can therefore use radiance of the dawn another two times, but not harness divine power. If you take another short rest, you get back your channel divinity again but still not harness divine power. It's only after you finish a long rest that you refresh your uses of harness divine power.

When I first saw this, I thought it was some form of typo. Thanks for the clarity here. I think this is awkward and I wonder if there is any other examples of other features being "double" gated like this when the other recovery of the other uses is based on SR.
